Sea Theater To Auction Off Its Seats

There has been a lot of construction taking place at the old Sea theater located at 4005 Pacific Avenue in Wildwood.

This month it was revealed that the theater was purchased by Spirit Brands who will put it through a massive renovation but will still continue to be a movie theater.

This original Nickelodeon Theater was one of the last of its kind in the United States. It closed back in October 2012 after Hurricane Sandy. It’s unclear if it had any flood damage due to the hurricane

Its owners were holding out for a new owner who would keep it as a Theater. (which we are very grateful for)

Fast forward to this week and we’re seeing the exterior and interior of the theater being demolished with a promise of a new upgraded theater.

This week we stopped by to take a look at its progress so far which included a name change to “Old Movies by the Sea.”  Its original sign was taken down and replaced with a letter sign above the main entrance. The inside will almost be fully gutted before being rebuilt.

On Facebook today it was announced that the company would be putting many of its inside features up for auction.

Included in this auction are seats, the sign, and odds and ends inside that won’t fit in the new theater.

According to records, the seats currently in the Sea aren’t original and were installed sometime in the early 2000s.

If you want to participate in the auction stop by tonight, Sept 21st at 6:30 pm.

We wish the new owners the best of luck!

Stay tuned for more details.
