On Tuesday around 4pm, the Wildwood Police Department put a post on Facebook alerting motorists of a sinkhole.
Sinkhole Forms In Wildwood
Located on Ocean Avenue between Spencer and Roberts Avenues, a small sinkhole started to form.
In photos provided by Stephen Roselli, one can see a hole roughly 2 square feet.
This hole prompted the city to have the area inspected. This street had been paved a few months ago. The inspectors believe that this past flooding may have caused some undermining.
The city has decided to close off the southbound lanes of Ocean Avenue until repairs can be made.
This isn’t the first time there was a sinkhole on Ocean Ave. Back in July of 2021, a sinkhole formed at 4800 Ocean Avenue. (in front of the Starlux golf).
