Since 2014 Woody’s Café, located at 18th and New Jersey, has been sitting empty and vacant. For those who don’t remember Woody’s Café was half restaurant and half liquor store.
On Sunday morning 911 was called to Woody’s Café after smoke was seen coming from one of the windows. It turned out that someone broke into the restaurant and started a small fire.
The suspect broke a video in the back of the restaurant and made his way in. The suspect was able to put the fire out before police arrived.
The suspect was arrested and charged with arson, burglary and mischief.
