Heritage Golf Group, a prominent operator of private country clubs and high-end resort courses, has made a strategic acquisition in the picturesque Cape May region of New Jersey. Stone Harbor Golf Club, a well-established golfing destination, was recently purchased by Heritage Golf Group in an off-market transaction from the Fishman family.
While the financial details of the deal were not disclosed, this acquisition adds another jewel to Heritage’s expanding portfolio of exclusive golfing venues.
Stone Harbor Golf Club, located on over 350 acres of pristine land in the coastal community of Cape May, offers a remarkable golfing experience for members and guests.
Originally designed by Desmond Muirhead in 1987, the championship course has undergone continuous enhancements to provide golfers with a challenging and memorable round. With its par 72 layout, five sets of tees, 58 bunkers, and captivating water hazards on 11 of its 18 holes, including an island green, Stone Harbor stands as a true testament to the artistry of the game.

The Wildwood Video Archive spent much time in April, exploring a lost golf course located in Cape May County.
Located in the Villas, Ponder-lodge was an 18-hole golf course built by the owners of the Christian Schmidt Brewing Company. Once a private course, in the 90s it opened to the public before closing its doors.
Over the years the state took over and allowed mother nature to grow over its luscious greens.
