Timothée Chalamet Movie To Film in Cape May – Looking For Extras!
Timothée Chalamet, widely recognized for his role as Paul Atreides in “Dune: Part Two,” is rumored to be delving into another iconic character, this time portraying the legendary singer-songwriter Bob Dylan.
The film, tentatively titled “A Complete Unknown,” is set to capture pivotal moments of Dylan’s career, including his electrifying performance at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival.
According to reports, the production team is scouting locations in Cape May, New Jersey, to recreate scenes from the historic music festival.
The 1965 Newport Folk Festival holds a special place in music history as the moment when Dylan controversially switched from acoustic folk to rock-and-roll, symbolized by his introduction of the electric guitar on stage.
It was also where he debuted the iconic song “Like a Rolling Stone,” which serves as the title inspiration for the upcoming biopic.
Set against the backdrop of the vibrant New York music scene of the early 1960s, “A Complete Unknown” chronicles Dylan’s ascent to fame and his evolution as an artist. The film promises to culminate in the groundbreaking 1965 performance that forever altered the trajectory of popular music.
Casting for extras is underway, with a focus on recruiting locals from Cape May to participate in the filming of the festival scenes. Interested individuals are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the era, including sporting period-appropriate hairstyles and facial hair.
The production team is keen on authenticity, requiring extras to be comfortable working around smoke and having no allergies to wool.
While the film is currently operating under the working title “Wurtzle Brothers,” the involvement of Chalamet, along with acclaimed actors such as Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, and Monica Barbaro, has generated significant buzz within the industry.
Renowned director James Mangold, known for his work on “Walk the Line,” is at the helm of the project, co-writing the script alongside Jay Cocks.
For those eager to be part of cinematic history, Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking individuals aged 18 and older to join the production as extras during the Cape May shoot.
