It’s not every day that Hollywood stars make their way to Cape May County but we do have our fair share.
The biggest movie that hit the silver screen this summer was the new Top Gun movie, “Top Gun Maverick.”
This movie was a blockbuster making 1.37 billion worldwide. (not counting Russia or China).
“Top Gun Maverick” follows 30 years after the last movie and follows Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell as he “confronts the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who choose to fly it.”
This movie starred Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm and so many more.
It turns out one of those stars are local to our area and visited Cape May….Miles Teller.
Over the weekend, Teller uploaded a photo on Twitter of the ocean with a banner plane. The advertisement that was behind it was for The Original Fudge Kitchen.
Top Gun Star In Cape May!
While that was only enough to prove he was in Cape May County, later that day he was found at the Ugly Mug in Cape May. (and a few other spots over the weekend).
There was even a rumor that he was roaming on the Wildwood Boardwalk.
This isn’t Teller’s first time in our area. Born in PA and a temporary resident of New Jersey, Teller had been coming to Cape May County his whole life.
A Tweet from 2020 had him saying “Grew up eating this stuff on the boardwalks of Cape May, NJ.” He was referring to The Original Fudge Kitchen.
For those who haven’t seen Top Gun Yet, Teller had been in other movies such as Whiplash, War Dogs, Fantastic Four and 2011’s Footloose.
