When Does The Wildwood Boardwalk Open?
It’s that time of year when the cold days of winter make us long for the hot summer days in the Wildwoods. One of the biggest questions posed this time is, “When Does the Wildwood Boardwalk open for the year?”
While it might be a simple question, there isn’t a simple answer since you could be referring to the rides, water parks, games, arcades, restaurants, and more.
The physical Wildwood Boardwalk never closes and is open year-round. This allows visitors to take a snowy stroll down the boardwalk to get those steps in. As spring comes it has been the best place to breathe in the fresh salt air while taking a nice walk.
There are some key places that are open year-round up on the boardwalk such as Quinn’s Fudge Island, Gateway 26, the Retro Arcade, and The Fudge Kitchen. You also have places like Sam’s Pizza and off-boardwalk businesses like Cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor that open up for President’s Day weekend.
One thing that people assume is that all of the shops, restaurants, and games are owned an operated by the same people when that is not the case. Due to this, there is no set date or time when these businesses could open for the year and what their times are.
Historically we used to see many businesses push to be open for Easter Weekend which used to coincide with the season open or Morey’s Mariners Pier.
For the past few years that tradition had been changed to opening up in early May, something we will get back to later on.
Due to this change, we also saw the change of when those other businesses would open their doors.
At the same time, there has been an influx of new events taking place at the Wildwoods Convention Center which has helped to bring these businesses to open up earlier in the Spring.

One thing to keep in mind is that if a business does open for Easter, it doesn’t mean it will be open every weekend or daily. It all depends on weather, events, and staffing.
Our suggestion would be to refer to those businesses’ Facebook pages to keep an eye on their official opening date and operation.
By the time Memorial Day Weekend hits, we do start to see those businesses stay open daily through Labor Day Weekend.
When it comes to Morey’s Piers and the rides, we are lucky to have those dates set in stone on their website.
Here are the opening dates and times for various attractions:
- Mariner’s Amusement Pier: Friday, May 3rd, 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Surfside Amusement Pier: Saturday, May 18th, 1:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Adventure Amusement Pier: Saturday, May 25th, 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Raging Waters Water Park: Saturday, June 1st, 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Ocean Oasis Water Park: Saturday, June 15th, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Please be sure to check out their website before driving down as weather could cause a closure.
