Wildwood Asks The Public For Help On New Playground Grant
The city of Wildwoods is asking for your help in a major project they are working on.
The Wildwood Recreation Department is applying to the Cape May County Open Space Board for a grant to built a new playground.
The city is looking to add not only a playground but also a new fitness track with outdoor workout stations.
The Byrne Community Center, located at 406 W Youngs Ave in wildwood, was opened on October 26th, 2008.
This would mean that it’s been 12 years since there was a major update at the park.
According to the WildWood Parks & Recreation, “having a playground and new fitness facility at the BCC are necessary for improving not only recreational opportunities for the surrounding neighborhoods, but also the quality of life for those who make their homes and are raising their families here.”
The city is asking the public for help in a very simple way. The Cape May County Open Space Board needs public support behind the application. All the city needs is for you to sign their letter of support by clicking the link below.

Once signed this will help show the CMCOSB (I assume that’s how it’s broken down), that we really want these new renovations.
Below are some photos of what the new park could look like. Please note that things can change with these blue prints and that they are just very early renderings.
The City of Wildwood will hold a public meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25 at City Hall in Commission Chambers, to solicit public input on an application to the Cape May County Open Space Program for funding to make various improvements at the Maxwell Field Recreation Complex.
