Wildwood Crest Christmas Tree Lighting
Many visitors from around the country only visit during the summer months. Folks sometimes forget that in the off-season we still have some amazing events that take place including some of our Christmas events.
One of those events is the Wildwood Crest Christmas Tree Lighting.
What makes this event so special is that it takes place right on the bay and includes the turning on of the bay-front decoration lights.
Every year the city puts out these beautifully decorated light-up figures along Sunset Lake at Atlanta and New Jersey avenues.
These figures include candy canes, presents, Santa and his reindeer, and snowflakes.
Sitting at the very middle of the display is a massive tree topped with a large star.
The Borough of Wildwood Crest will host its annual holiday tree lighting and bay-front decorating ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m.
It’s more than just a tree lighting. Here Christmas music will be performed by the student choir at Crest Memorial School, free refreshments will be served and Santa Claus will make a visit.
The event is free and open to the public.
For further information, call the Wildwood Crest Recreation Department at (609) 523-0202.
These decorations are usually featured in the Wildwood Video Archive’s Christmas Light Tour which normally airs in Mid-December.
During that tour, the WVA stops by over 30 locations on the island and shares it with you on Youtube.

There are plenty of other Christmas events taking place in the Wildwoods this December. One of those other events is Wildwood’s Winter Wonderland.
Wildwood’s Winter Wonderland is located at Holly Beach Park (100 E. Andrews) and offers more lights than Clark Griswold ever put on his house. If you want more information on Wildwood’s Winter Wonderland click HERE.
