Over the past few days we have been getting many questions about what is happening to the Polar Bear Plunge.
Wildwood Polar Bear Plunge Rescheduled to March
As you may know, the Polar Bear Plunge, which is put together to help raise money for Special Olympics New Jersey, always takes place the first few weekends in January.
Last year we were there on January 11th for the 14th running of the Plunge. In total the plungers raised over $330,000 for the Special Olympics of New Jersey. This brings their overall total over 3 million dollars!!!

Who would have known that a few weeks after this plunge the country would fall into a lockdown.
With the pandemic sticking around the Special Olympics of New Jersey made the decision to push back the date from January 9th to Saturday March 27th.
The good news is that the water won’t be as cold! (Still it will be chilly!)
Of course due to the uncertainty of the pandemic this date too could change. In the event of a cancelation, there is a make-up date and will inform all Plungers.
One thing they did change for this year is the option to take the deep plunge remotely called the Virtual Plunge.
Register to plunge virtually, and they will send you your plunge incentives, and all you need to do is send us pictures or videos of your virtual plunge experience.
