For those who were watching the Los Angeles Lakers/Miami Heat game last night may have seen the Lakers win a championship. Little did you know that there is an awesome Wildwood connection to that game.

Frank Vogel, who is the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, is from the Wildwoods! He’s actually from Wildwood Crest and went to Wildwood High and graduated in 1991.

This championship title is Vogel’s first.

In a post game interview on Vogel said that, “it’s unbelievable!”

While we are a 76ers town, I don’t think we would be upset if the Larry O’Brien trophy makes it’s way down the shore sometime this year. We also expect a cool banner going up in the Wildwood High School and at Keenan’s.

Congrats to Vogel!
