It’s time again for Wildwood’s Polar Bear Plunge and this year might be the coldest yet.
Wildwood’s Polar Bear Plunge takes place on Saturday, January 15th.
Registration opens at 10 am inside the Wildwoods Convention Center (4501 Boardwalk, Wildwood NJ). You can still sign up in person for the plunge. An on-site bear registration costs $125.
At 12:45 all plungers and spectators will head out to the beach.
The plunge itself will take place at 1 pm with lunch following afterward at 1:15.
As of right now, according to weather.com, it is going to be a high of 28 degrees and a low of 19 degrees. The ocean temperature looks to be around 49 degrees.

Usually, we cover Wildwood’s Polar Bear Plunge but since we have covid-19, we are stick in quarantine for a bit.
Last year’s Polar Bear Plunge was canceled due to covid.
The Polar Bear Plunge at Wildwood is so much more than an icy dip into the Atlantic Ocean. Special Olympics New Jersey provides year-round sports training, competition, leadership opportunities, and health screenings to thousands of athletes. All of these programs and services are always completely free thanks to fundraising events like the Polar Bear Plunge at Wildwood.
