For those living in New Jersey today (Oct 1st) you will see new taxes being put in place.

The biggest and noticeable one is that for the second time in two years there will be a rise in gas. The new bill which New Jersey Governor Murphy passed will see a rise of 4.3 cents per gallon. This now gives New Jersey the fifth-highest gas tax in the country. We were eighth.

Other taxes that we will see go up starting today (Oct 1st) is Internet Sales Tax and an 12 to 15 percent tax on homes rented though the popular home rental website, Airbnb. New Jersey is hoping to take in an estimated $14+ million on the Airbnb tax alone.
