A new application has been filed with the city of Wildwood’s planning and zoning board that will make a ton of people happy.
Beer Garden Coming to Wildwood?
A written application was filed by the Owners, Thomas Quinn and James Gaffney, requesting a variance from the requirements established by the City of Wildwood Zoning and Land Development Ordinance concerning side yards and height requirements for a property at 215, 219 & 221 East Lincoln Avenue in Wildwood.
In looking up the address you can see that this was where The Harbor Inn used to be before it was demolished last year.
In July we reportedon the demolition and noted that an outdoor venue was being considered but nothing had been talked about since.
The application goes on to say;
“The proposal is to have the main building utilized as a small tavern and to use the majority of the property as an outdoor beer garden with lawn area and seating for forty-four (44). The owners intend to have an aesthetically improved property that will be consistent with the area where there is a great deal of construction of improved properties.”
The owners are looking for the Board to approve the conditional use as a beer garden for outdoor alcoholic consumption. This will most likely pass since the entire property is licensed for ABC (alcoholic beverage consumption).
For those worrying about parking, this new beer garden would have 10 parking spots on the property.
A public hearing on the application has been scheduled for June 6, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the Wildwood City Hall, Commissioner’s Meeting Room, (4400 New Jersey ave) for those interested.
Since the new application has just been submitted earlier today we have not had a moment to grab a copy of the plans at the planning board.
Check back later for more updates.
