Burlington Coat Factory Coming to Rio Grande
There is a ton of change coming for 2023 here in Cape May County. Just in this week alone, the Wildwoods is seeing a new hotel being built on the boardwalk, a new fudge store Rapunzel’s is moving, and more.
Today there is another change being added to the list, Burlington Coat Factory.
A shout-out to our friend Dan Robinson over at DansDroneShots609 for breaking this story late yesterday.
While this isn’t in Wildwood like those other projects, it will still be an added store for all of Cape May County.
Rio Grande Shipping Mall, located at 1500 Route 47 South in Rio Grande, New Jersey, is getting a new anchor chain.
Those who have visited the shopping center, where Shoprite, Dollar Tree Planet Fitness, and PetSmart are, know that it has been lacking some big-name stores.
Years ago JCPenney and Peebles used to call this shopping center home. Unfortunately, both of these stores when through bankruptcy and while JCPenney did make it through, both closed their locations here in Rio Grande.
The JCPenney was eventually reopened as Planet Fitness but the Peebles storefront was left empty. Peebles went bankrupt during the pandemic and closed all of its locations in New Jersey.
The news today is that the Peebles space will be transformed into a Burlington Coat Factory.
A temporary sign has gone up on the building saying that Burlington is coming soon but it doesn’t give us a date on when.
Looking through the doors it doesn’t look like there is much movement going on.
The good news is that they are hiring so those looking for a job can text Retail to 97211 to apply.
Is this a store you will be shopping in once it opens? Let us know.
