Right now there is a category 4 hurricane slamming into the Gulf Coast and Louisiana.
Could Hurricane Ida Hit New Jersey Next Week?
According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Ida is only 7 mph short of sustained winds to be declared a Category 5 Hurricane.
With news circulating of its future path after hitting land, many people are reaching out to us to see if Hurricane Ida will hit us.
The National Hurricane Center’s press release, which was put out at 7 am, does indicate a general path but doesn’t show a clear picture just yet.
In their provided image, it shows Hurricane Ida as a tropical depression moving into West Virginia by Thursday at 1 am.
At this moment there really isn’t a defined forecast for our area as most meteorologists say we are still a few days away until the picture becomes clearer.
What it’s looking like mostly is a Wednesday storm into Thursday night that could bring heavy rain to New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
If the cone follows the current prediction we could see the most of the rain from central New Jersey up, with the worst of it being in PA.
This still doesn’t account for flooding and wind (that we don’t know yet).
Tune back later for more details.
