New Comfort Inn Lots Put Up For Sale!

New Comfort Inn Lots Put Up For Sale!

Is a strange turn of events, the Comfort Inn Lots are being put up for sale.

To understand what’s going on let’s jump back to 2019. It was at this time that many lots on Schellenger Avenue, Between Pacific and Atlantic Avenues, were being sold to the same LLC.

These lots were 222 and 248-250 which happen to be the home of the Stardust Nightclub, a parking lot, and Colleens.

It wasn’t until January 2021 that we found out that a new Choice Hotel would be coming to this location.

As you know, this entire block is going through a transformation. On the Westside, on Pacific ave, M.T. Bottles, 2nd St Annies, and the Fairview have been torn down to become the Residences On Pacific.

Wildwood Construction Update – Dec 2021

Folks were getting excited to see the demolition of the Stardust and colleens since they have been sitting empty for many years now.

Six months ago we got our hands on the mockups and full details of the new hotel that would be built there.

According to a Planning/Zoning Board application submitted to the city in February, the permit filed called for the construction of a 96 room hotel. The brand that Choice Hotel had decided to with for this location was a Comfort Inn & Suites.

This project had been placed on hold due to, our favorite thing (sarcasm), a pending CAFRA report.

It turns out that we might not even get to see a hotel ever built here.

Just recently a listing went online for this plot of land, 222 and 248-250 Schellenger Ave to the tune of $3.5 Million.

The listing goes on to say; “Last prime location available in Wildwood, Approved for a 96 room Hotel by City. Or Residential Developer can change course to create a Condominium development”

One wonders, and this is only an opinion, what if B.G. Capital, who are working on four other projects on the island, where to purchase these and turn it into condos?

For right now there isn’t any other information about this story but please be sure to tune back later.
