New Jersey Removes 50% Capacity On Indoor Dining + More
Today, New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy, made a ton of announcements in regards to covid-19 restrictions. These announcements are mostly about how New Jersey’s numbers and trending downward and that many of its current restrictions will be relaxed. On top of this, he has introduced incentives to get more people vaccinated.
Below are some of his announcements via Twitter.
– Indoor Capacities Relaxed
Effective May 19th, we will REMOVE the 50% capacity indoor dining limit.
Restaurants will be allowed to operate at whatever capacity allows them to continue to ensure a minimum six-foot distance between groups.
Effective May 19th, the general indoor social gathering limit will increase to 50 individuals.
Effective May 19th, indoor capacities for the following will be limited to a maximum of 250 people so long as social distances can be maintained:
Catered events, Funerals or memorial services, Performances, Political activities, and Commercial gatherings
– Outdoor Capacities Relaxed
Effective May 19th, indoor capacity for large venues (1,000 or more fixed seats) can increase to 30% – with six feet of distance between ticketed groups.
On May 19th, we anticipate completely removing the limit on outdoor gatherings.
Effective May 7th, we will LIFT the prohibition on buffets and other self-service foods at restaurants.
Effective May 7th, we will LIFT the prohibition on indoor bar-side seating.
– “Shot and a Beer” Program
“We’re launching our “Shot and a Beer” program to encourage eligible New Jerseyans ages 21+ to get vaccinated. Any New Jerseyan who gets their first vaccine dose in the month of May and takes their vaccination card to a participating brewery will receive a free beer.”
