Over the past few days, the beaches of the Wildwoods have been getting hit pretty hard. Between a New Moon, the remnants of Tropical Storm Sally and Hurricane Teddy causing havoc on the currents, the North Wildwood beaches experienced heavy erosion.
For those who recall, just back in May the city had finished their bulkhead extension which ran from 7th street all the way to 11th. We are glad that they built this bulkhead as in the video you will see below, the water would have spilled right into the streets.
If you want more information on the new bulkhead click the link below.
Tuesday during high tide we are expected to see more erosion on our beaches. This is mostly due to Hurricane Teddy’s movement north which is still creating larger swells.
We will stop by later in the day, around low tide, to film an update on the conditions of the beach..
In an interview with Fox Philly yesterday, North Wildwood mayor, Patrick Rosenello, said that they will be working on a plan to fix these beaches soon.
Tune back later for more information.
