In an email sent out to residents, guests and press, the Mayor of Ocean City, NJ, Jay A. Gillian, made the sad announcement that all special events through October have been cancelled.

These events would include the Baby Parade, the September air shows, the Corvette Show on the Boardwalk, the OCNJ Half Marathon, and the Fall Block Party.

He goes on to say “It would be irresponsible to stage events that attract dense crowds. We cannot let our guard down. Please continue to avoid large gatherings and please continue to wear face coverings in all public places.”

His decision came after doctors urged him to continue caution.

Also in his email he addressed that the dredge Ohio is back at work on the beach replenish project.

For those who don’t know, Tropical Storm Isaias created a tornado that started in the Ocean City sound and made it’s way through Mormora New Jersey.

A few days ago we made our way to Mormora to film the damage from the tornado as it ripped through the town.
