As you know, we make it our job to find old 8mm and 16mm films of the Wildwoods and Cape May and digitize them for future generations. (Many thanks to our patrons on Patreon for that)
Today’s video is one that really got us excited as there are things in this 8mm reel that I don’t think have ever been online before.
Filmed in 1964 by an un-named family, this film allows us to relive some of the amazing ships that once made Cape May Country their home.
This video features the two famous George Sinn sightseeing cruisers, the Big Flamingo and PT 109. Both of these ships are long gone now ever since the Blue Sightseer left the island last year.
Along with these ships we are able to see one of the original Cape May Ferries, SS Delaware, which had only started sailing the year this was filmed.
We hope you enjoy this throwback and please ask that you subscribe!
Please know that this video may be shaky in some parts.
If you do happen to have any 8mm and 16mm films of the Wildwoods and our surrounding sister towns, please reach out to us!
